General ethical guidelines for research
In Iceland, universities adhere to guidelines for research ethics (https://hi.is/sites/default/files/ame18/reglur_sidanefnd_hv_5_nov_2020.pdf). The Icelandic Centre for Research (Rannís) also has ethical guidelines for their employees (https://www.rannis.is/starfsemi/sidareglur-rannis/) and references the European Network of Research Ethics Committees – EUREC (https://eurecnet.eu/) for general ethical guidelines for scientists in Iceland. Additionally, the Icelandic Parliament enacted a law on Quality Scientific Practices, which include ethics in science (in Icelandic: Lög um vandaða starfshætti í vísindum), which explicitly addresses ethics in science in 2019. You can find the official link to this law here: https://www.althingi.is/lagas/156a/2019070.html.
